I dreamed I had an interview with GOD.
8 }! i" I% _0 k3 J- x$ Q我在梦中被上帝接见。
  v2 X( J$ ^4 ^“So you would like to interview me?” GOD asked.
5 p" q0 w' m8 d2 i8 k! u“你想采访我是吗？”上帝问道。
! l; S3 N5 b' u8 `“If you have the time,” I said.
“如果您有时间的话。”我说。
　GOD smiled.
“My time is eternity...
% |1 `$ Y; G% g( P　...what questions do you have in mind for me?”
( [" V+ \) U' Z$ R; P( ?上帝笑道：“我的时间是永恒的…你有什么问题呢？”
“What surprises you most about humankind?”
6 l9 E, Q/ z4 h1 m“人类最让您惊奇的是什么？”
　GOD answered...
上帝答道：
“That they get bored with childhood,
4 M1 ?: B# {3 q　they rush to grow up,
　and then long to be children again.”
) F! N  M- ~: [: i: m“是他们厌倦了童年时期，急着长大，而后又渴望返老还童。”
“That they lose their health to make money...
　and then lose their money to restore their health.”
“他们为了挣钱而牺牲了健康，然后又花钱来恢复健康。”
" ~# k; L* L0 W$ y, I# ]3 I8 h“That by thinking anxiously about the future,
　they forget the present,
　such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”
+ G+ d( c, \$ e, H% U2 C1 }( M1 P“他们忧虑着未来，而忘记了现在，于是他们既不生活在现在，也不在未来。”
“That they live as if they will never die,
　and die as though they had never lived.”
“他们活着，像是永远都不会死去，到死去的时候，又仿佛从来没有活过。”
　GOD’s hand took mine and we were silent for awhile.
% ]3 ~" i2 Q: L' \上帝握住我的手，我们沉默了一会儿。
　And then I asked,
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
然后我问：“作为父母，您希望您的孩子们知道哪些生活经验呢？”
1 @! F. I# Z" x& O4 V4 p2 Z4 h/ T“To learn they cannot make anyone love them.
( P, B, P: P& ]$ L4 N; n9 e　All they can do is let themselves be loved.”
“他们要知道他们不能让每个人都爱他们，他们能做的是让他们自己被爱。”
“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”
“他们应该知道与别人攀比是不好的。”
5 n* d6 c  }" Q+ Y4 N0 X) B1 l* x“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”
9 @3 f1 }6 x' ?* u& M) D“他们要学习宽恕别人。”
“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in those they love,
　and it can take many years to heal them.”
3 q) t& d  h/ y- ~) w/ a  d  H5 w“他们应该知道给他们所爱的人刻上深深的伤痕只需几秒钟，而要治愈这些伤痕却要花好多年。”
“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most,
- w- N1 o- g- K9 x- X　but is one who needs the least.”
“他们要知道真正富裕的人，不是拥有最多的，而是需求最少的。”
- u4 m* t7 {1 _' Z' d) N' G9 u“To learn that there are people who love them dearly,
　but simply do not yet know how to express or show their feelings.”
" ]2 l: P! R' @“他们要知道有些人在深爱着他们，但是却不知道怎么表达他们的感情。”
& W4 M* k5 d  s, s, l“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”
“他们需要知道两个人看同一个事物，会有不同的看法。”
5 n* q* H6 ]  r$ C7 w. U. J7 u“To learn that it is not enough that they forgive one another,
$ }1 @: i% h5 ?　but they must also forgive themselves.”
“他们要知道他们不仅仅要互相宽恕，还要宽恕他们自己。”
“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.
“Is there anything else you'd like your children to know?”
“谢谢您的时间”我谦恭地说。“还有其他的事情您想要您的孩子们知道的吗？”
　GOD smiled and said...
“Just know that I am here.”

“他们要知道我在这里。”
