These characteristics generally include initial ball velocity, coefficient of restitution (CoR), compression, weight distribution and spin of the golf ball, which can be optimized for various types of players. . Golf ball cores can be formed using zinc diacrylate (ZDA) and/or zinc dimethacrylate (ZDMA) co-agents to take part in the cross-linking of polybutadiene. A small amount of ZDA and/or ZDMA produces a golf ball core with lower initial velocity and lower compression than a larger amount of coagent. The use of ZDA coagent to increase velocity also increases hardness and contributes to a hard feel. |
