Washington, D.C. - The Associated Press reported that Goodyear Tire & Rubber spent $1.24 million during the first six months of 2011 lobbying the federal government on funding for an international government-industry group that promotes the use of rubber and other issues. Goodyear spent $380,000 in the second quarter and $860,000 in the first quarter of this year. The AP reported the company also lobbied the government on the contract award process for military ground and aircraft tires, standards for controlling emissions from industrial boilers and process heaters, alternative minimum tax credits and tire safety, according to a report filed in July.
