Conveyor belts generally are
composed of three main
components:

3. Covers (carry cover and pulley cover)

& }! Q2 j5 B: U. [2 m# PThe reinforcement usually found on the inside of
a conveyor belt is normally referred to as the
4 x& B9 x0 S  m9 U, R“carcass.” In a sense, the carcass is the conveyor
8 |5 a- L( f" w; S% e) i$ cbelt since it must:
1. Provide the tensile strength necessary
to move the loaded belt.
2. Absorb the impact of the impinging
material being loaded onto the conveyor
belt.
! }1 O. A' H1 p" P' D' g3. Provide the bulk and lateral stiffness
# v/ a) r( p, K) _* c3 C8 vrequired for the load support.
4. Provide adequate strength for proper
