Y, m+ G# m3 L; X     The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) is the primary national trade association for the finished rubber products industry in the U.S. Comprised of two divisions, the General Products Group and the Tire Group, RMA's member-company organizations contribute upwards of $20 billion in finished rubber product shipments to the global economy. RMA is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and is recognized as the leading business advocate, resource and information clearinghouse for and about today's diversified rubber industry.

The use of and demand for rubber products is pervasive in todayas consumer and industrial economies. Safe, reliable and essential rubber products are an intrinsic asset in modern life. (IISRP) is an international not-for-profit trade association with 50 corporate members domiciled in 20 countries who produce 95 percent of the world supply of synthetic rubber. Incorporated in 1960 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the Institute also supports offices in London and Tokyo.

The Institute is organized into three geographic sections; the Far East Section; the European Section; and the Americas Section.

The purposes of the Institute are to actively promote and further the interests of manufacturers of synthetic rubber polymers and the interests of the public in manufacturing, engineering, safety, environmental control, transportation, international trade, and other matters of concern to the synthetic rubber industry, and to this end, among other things:

1. To promote the synthetic rubber industry and its benefits to society – stressing its history of innovation, technology improvement and its contributions to an improved quality of life;

7. To promote the characterization and nomenclature of general purpose synthetic rubber polymers;

J% y8 k$ V     The Scottish Plastics and Rubber Association (SPRA) provides a forum for discussion of topics of mutual benefit to members in the form of technical and business meetings, seminars, a regular newsletter and a website. The SPRA also organises social functions for members to allow them to relax in the company of professionals with similar outlook, away from the stresses of the workplace. The popular annual Dinner Dance in the first week of March gives an opportunity for members and guests to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. SPRA members are encouraged to engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD), participate in the activities of the Institute of Materials and form links with other groups with similar interests.

The primary aim of the SPRA is: "to promote the advancement of plastics, rubber and related materials, through education and training in the science, engineering and design associated with the manufacture, conversion and end-use of polymeric materials".
