Carbon black contributes to Aditya Birla growth

2 _$ s; ^. F+ t- C* YMumbai - Aditya Birla Nuvo reported a growth of 70% to Rs 253 crore in the first quarter ended June 30,2011. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 149 crore in the same period last year. The company’s revenue also grew by 24% from Rs 3,857 crore to Rs 4,767 crore. The highly diversified company reported a 32% volume growth and higher power sales in the carbon black business contributed to the growth.
