Thailand to reduce NR exports by 140,000 mt

6 `& _  i5 W2 D1 a, ^% DBangkok, Thailand - Rubber exporters in Thailand with annual exports of more than 5,000 metric tons will have to slash their exports in a move to stabilize natural rubber prices in the global market. The limitation is in accord with an agreement of the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC), comprising Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. ITRC member countries are also required to restrict their respective exports this year at a maximum of 300,000 metric tons. The Rubber Control Committee agreed to enforce the 5,000 metric ton limit as of October 1. Thailand will reduce rubber exports to total of 140,000 metric tons this year.
