Huber increasing precipitated silica in Tennessee

, {8 G/ g7 i" t8 [2 [9 y0 gAtlanta, GA - Huber Engineered Materials is increasing capacity at its precipitated silica plant in Etowah, TN. The expansion will add 14,000 metric tons annually at Etowah and is set for completion in the third quarter of 2013. “This investment in our flagship Etowah plant will position Huber to continue supporting our customers’ growth with a broad range of high quality dental, food and industrial grade silicas and silicates,” says Chuck Herak, vice president and general manager of Huber’s Silica business unit. Earlier this year, Huber announced a new production line at its precipitated silica plant in Jhagadia, India, which is set for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012 and doubles the capacity to 35,000 metric tons.
