Kumho recalling passenger tires

WASHINGTON, DC - Kumho Tire U.S.A.is recalling certain Kumho Solus KH25 passenger car tires, size 225/45R17, produced in the weeks of August 21, 2011 through June 23, 2012. The affected tires could develop cracking in the sidewall, which could result in air loss. Kumho will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected tires free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin during August 2012. Owners may contact Kumho at 1-909-428-3999. The company told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that 1,238 tires could be involved.
