Engineering chosen for Saudi halobutyl project

  ]% w1 }* @" ?4 B; a- _- [( SAl-Jubail, Saudi Arabia - Al-Jubail Petrochemical, a 50:50 joint venture between Saudi Basic Industries and Exxon Chemical Arabia, has awarded a contract to Technip to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to a facility manufacturing halobutyl. The halobutyl facility is situated in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia. ExxonMobil Chemical’s affiliate is Exxon Chemical Arabia. This project comes under the Saudi Elastomers Program initiated by Kemya to establish a state-of-the-art specialty elastomers facility in order to offer products for local markets, Asia and the Middle East. This new plant will manufacture 110,000 tons of rubber every year utilizing ExxonMobil licensed technology. Technip’s operating center, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, will implement the contract.
