Houston, TX - U.S. Zinc plans to expand zinc oxide production by 17,000 metric tons per year. The project will boost oxide capacity in order to better serve customers in an ever-changing volatile market. Slated to begin in 2013, the expansion includes adding capacity at each of its oxide plants, located in Clarksville, TN, and Millington, TN. Both locations will have pelletizing capabilities and the ability to use secondary raw materials as feedstock. “With this increase in zinc oxide capacity, we will be able to provide stronger supply security and address the growing demand among customers for zinc oxide in pelletized form,” said U.S. Zinc executive vice president, commercial, Tracy Baugh. “Additionally, we are pleased that this expansion will allow our oxide plants to increase the use of secondary material as raw material, furthering our commitment to recycling.” - |
