Changes in management at Lanxess Corp

Specialty chemicals company, Lanxess Corp has announced changes at the top tier of its management. Current president and CEO, Randy Dearth, is leaving the company to take up the same role with Calgon Carbon Corporation.

' a% q2 \' N" BDearth was named President and CEO of Lanxess Corporation in 2004 when the company was formed from the Bayer Corporation. Prior to this, Dearth had held a variety of roles within Bayer – having joined them in 1988.

“In the past eight years, Randy has been a central figure in the carve-out and creation of Lanxess in North America,” said Dr. Rainier van Roessel, member of the Board of Management of Lanxess. “We will not forget his focus; determination and passion that helped shape our corporate culture. Randy’s contribution to Lanxess will have a lasting effect as we continue to drive success in the future.”

His successor has been named as Flemming B. Bjørnslev, who at present is CEO of Lanxess Central Eastern Europe. Bjørnslev will take up his new role later in the year with Raymond Newhouse, currently Lanxess CFO, serving as acting CEO in the interim
