Extensive investment in Far East for Kenda Rubber Co

Kenda Rubber Co. Ltd. has announced plans for a new facility to be built in China. The new site will become the company’s fifth in the country.

The Guangdong province city of Huizhou will see the US$333m investment, which will facilitate a factory for car, light truck, trailer and motorcycle tires. The site is expected, by 2016, to be producing around 83,000 radial tires per day.

The plans for the 10-acre site where announced by Kenda chairman Yang Ying-ming. The announcement also follows news that Kenda will be expanding its site in Tianjin. That US$175m investment is in a bid to up capacity to around 45,000 units per day by mid 2013.
