Benjamin Kastein passes away at 95

; v7 \( L5 A% F0 ?& hCuyahoga Falls, OH - Benjamin Kastein, retired from Firestone, former Rubber Division chair and historian and former technical editor for Rubber World Magazine passed away May 11 at the age of 95. He was a senior compounder in Firestone’s tire development department. One of his greatest accomplishments was being part of the team that developed synthetic rubber during World War II. After serving as chair for the Rubber Division, Kastein spent many years as the official photographer and historian. He was bestowed the Division’s Distinguished Service Award in 1988. Kastein joined Rubber World in 1978 and served as technical editor through 1982.
