The induction to ITMA will see the company gain access to a variety of technical, legislative and market information matters in a much shorter timescale, allowing it to operate more effectively within Europe.

“It is fantastic to welcome another major international tire manufacturer to ITMA’s ranks,” said David Seward, president, ITMA. “The sheer weight of technical and legislative rules governing tire manufacturers’ activities within Europe is now extremely daunting so the type of support and advice we offer is of huge benefit.”

ITMA represents 16 manufacturers, six of which have joined in the past 18 months; a statistic they state is representative of the growing weight of regulations. ITMA’s support of non-European produced tires is becoming increasingly important, with over a third of all tire sales in Europe are of non-EU sourced tires, this figure rising to half in the UK./ y( [) y8 m4 \: {+ z

“There are many issues such as tire labelling that are unique to Europe, so it’s incredibly important that manufacturers without a European technical office fully understand the changing environment in a timely manner. With our help, manufacturers can overcome these challenges and compete without being disadvantaged,” added Seward |
