DAK Americas completes PET acquisition

Charlotte, NC - DAK Americas has completed the acquisition of the PET resins business of Wellman. The acquisition brings DAK Americas' total PET resin production capacity to more than 4.3 billion pounds annually (1,945 k tons) in the Americas. The acquisition includes the PET resin production facilities in Bay St. Louis, MS. The site has a production capacity of approximately 950 million lbs./year (430 k tons/year) of PET resin and a work force of approximately 165 people. These facilities will be integrated into DAK Americas Resins Business Unit which also has U.S. operations in Wilmington, NC; Fayetteville, NC; and Charleston, SC.
