Bloomingdale, IL - Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) presented the Pediatric Cancer Foundation (PCF) with a $500,000 check. The money was raised through the company’s Round Up program and will be used to fund clinical trials for pediatric cancer patients through PCF’s research initiative, the Sunshine Project. “I know I speak on behalf of our customers, business partners and teammates when I thank the Pediatric Cancer Foundation team for the life-changing work they do to help find a cure for childhood cancer,” said Matt Hoskins, president, BSRO. “This contribution came from thousands of customers ‘Rounding Up’ their purchases to the next dollar at our stores. Through their exceptional generosity, BSRO’s brand message of ‘A Promise to Care’ has been brought to life in a very meaningful way.” PCF’s Sunshine Project is a collaboration of top doctors and researchers from the country’s finest hospitals working together to fast-track less toxic, more targeted therapies. Since 2005, PCF has launched four Phase I clinical trials. Currently, 11 institutions participate in the Sunshine Project. - * Email

2 A# q% K2 J# S! tDietach, Austria - Engel’s response to continuing increases in order volumes for automation technology is to introduce a synchronized line assembly and modernize the machine farm in its robot plant. The injection molding machine manufacturer and automation expert has invested a total of EUR 2.3 million in its facility in Dietach, Austria. Engel supplies 50 percent of all large-scale machines and 3 percent of the small to medium-sized machines with automation included, and the figures are still rising. “Thanks to this new structure, we can now achieve short delivery times for the Engel viper linear robot and integrated system solutions, despite full order books,” said Stefan Engleder, of Engel. “At the same time, we have also increased production capacity.” |
