Performance Fibers adds PPS yarn capacity

Bad Hersfeld, Germany - Performance Fibers, a leading global supplier of industrial fibers and fabrics, announced an expansion to their high performance fiber portfolio. Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) multifilament yarns are now being manufactured and distributed out of the company’s Bad Hersfeld, Germany site. Performance Fibers produces the PPS yarns using Ticona’s Fortron PPS resin. “This launch illustrates our investment in the research and development of new materials” said Steve Byrne, vice president, Advanced Technology and Marketing. “It demonstrates our continued commitment to innovative solutions that address the dynamic and demanding requirements of our customers and the industries we serve.” Working extensively with Ticona, the companies have developed a product line that consistently delivers outstanding results. Performance Fibers’ PPS yarns withstand extreme chemical and temperature environments, offer inherent flame resistance and low moisture absorption, all while maintaining dimensional stability.
