zLine from Nokian is a high performance addition

Another new tire range from Finnish manufacturer, Nokian, is the zLine. Where this differs from the xLine, is that the zLine is designed to be an out and out high performance tire for premium applications.

9 m, e6 u9 e; ^. aIts size selection comprises 31 products from 16 to 20in, in speed categories W (270kph) and Y (300kph). The body of the tire is constructed from Nokian’s new ‘intelligent’ UHP silica, which reduces heat generation, thus reducing wear and degradation. The design of the tire itself, features an asymmetrical ‘inside-outside’ pattern, whilst the rigid inside and outside shoulder areas are connected with block patterns that are bound together by longitudinal ribs. The wider ribs help stiffen the tire and reduce the movement of the pattern blocks during road contact. Nokian states that this gives the tire optimal road contact, increased control and good handling at higher speeds.

“The Nokian zLine is a professional in demanding driving conditions, thanks to its new generation of tread compound, nanotechnology layered structure, and tread pattern developed for fast driving,” explained Juha Pirhonen product development manager for Nokian Tyres. “It immediately responds to steering, which is an essential requirement for safe operation at extreme limits. In addition to the precise driving feel, these advances in technology also manifest themselves in the remarkable driving comfort of the tyre.”
