Cooper Tire to furlough English workers

Findlay, OH - Cooper Tire & Rubber Europe said difficult market conditions in Europe were behind the recently-announced 50 manufacturing operations layoffs at its Melksham, England site. The layoffs are expected to occur at the end of September. In a statement, the company reported that, “consultation with employee representatives has started through the Works Council and reductions will first be implemented through voluntary redundancy and early retirement where possible.”
