Trelleborg Group inaugurates agricultural tire production plant

Trelleborg Group has invested in a new manufacturing facility in Hebei, China to produce high-performance specialty, primarily agricultural tires.

The investment is part of Trelleborg’s continued long-term strategy to grow in markets with favorable potential. Using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, the site produces both radial and bias technology tires in sizes ranging from 18-24in, for farming, forestry and agro-industrial applications. Output capacity at the facility will reach 150,000 units of more than 200 tire sizes by 2013. The plant is intended to serve the needs of Trelleborg’s partners by providing local supply to its Chinese facilities, and also to local manufacturers.

President and CEO at Trelleborg, Peter Nilsson said, “We believe that China has highly favorable long-term growth opportunities and our strong global platform will be further reinforced by this facility. This new production unit continues our commitment to the agricultural sector in China. The manufacturing facility will also strengthen Trelleborg’s competitiveness on markets other than the Chinese, by broadening the range and through more efficient production.”
