Pirelli plans to invest US$400 million in Mexico

Pirelli will invest US$400 million by 2017 in its newly constructed factory in Mexico, USA. The plant will manufacture tires for the premium segment, inluding high performance and ultra-high performance tires for cars and SUVs.

The factory is 135,000m2 and production capacity is intended to reach 5.5 million tires by the end of 2017. 1,800 new jobs are to be created. The facility is also equipped with Pirelli’s most advanced technology and production processes.

8 G5 c4 |* R4 [- N4 GThe Mexico plant has been built with economic efficiency in mind and it will see an increase in production of tires with Pirelli’s “green performance strategy.” A series of state-of-the-art sensors have been installed throughout the factory to reduce wastage of water and electrical energy.
