Bangkok, Thailand - Thailand plans to buy more than 10,000 metric tons of rubber on the Tokyo and Shanghai exchanges. The country will also keep buying rubber from farmers until prices reach appropriate levels. The government and exporters are taking these measures to counter the slump in prices. The state-owned Rubber Estate Organization will import rubber and re-export to fulfill its overseas contract commitments after rains affected domestic supplies.
