SUN-TWS expand portfolio of manufacturing sites

Indian manufacturer, Sun Tyre & Wheel Systems (SUN-TWS), has announced a third manufacturing facility in its portfolio.

The new plant will be built at a new site in South India, and will manufacture solid industrial tires and related products. Construction of the new facility will commence in the fourth quarter of 2012, and follows approval from the board of directors thanks to extended lead times across a number of key products.

! a- [; L3 u: n7 gSUN-TWS has seen substantial growth, following its acquisition of Sri Lankan firm, Watts Lanka Private limited in 2010. This attainment has allowed SUN-TWS to rapidly expand its capacity of solid resilient and press-on band tires. This site, at present, is paired with SUN-TWS’s main facility, built in 2006, that the company claims ‘is the most modern industrial tyre plant in the world’.
