Lord subsidiary wins Brazilian rubber award

Cary, NC - A subsidiary of Lord Corporation won the Top Rubber Award in the Adhesives category at an event organized by Editora Aspa, publisher of magazine Borracha Atual, and this year it included 22 categories. “It was a very important recognition from the rubber sector in Brazil to our work, especially now that we have completed forty years of presence in the country,” said Sandro Leonhardt, regional manager for South America. With a plant in Jundiai, Lord is currently building a unit in Itupeva, which will open in 2014. Lord manufactures an extensive range of adhesives used to bond rubber to various substrates. “The Chemlok adhesives account for 50 percent of Lord’s sales in Brazil, and most sales involve the Tier-1, which is provided for the automakers,” says Nilson Pavani, sales supervisor for the automotive market.
