Portland, ME - Smithers Rapra announced that its international carbon black development conference, Carbon Black World, will take place November 7-9, 2012, at the Omni San Diego Hotel in San Diego, CA. The 12th biennial edition of the conference will unite leaders from the tire, rubber, ink and carbon black industries for a comprehensive look at the most up-to-the-minute information and developments in the carbon black marketplace. Expert presenters will identify strategies and market trends by region and sector, examine emerging technologies, discuss the impact of international regulatory issues, and delve into technical trends in major markets such as tires, industrial rubbers and new end-use applications. “With ever changing environments, this conference is an opportunity and forum to understand the long- and short-term impact of regulatory, environmental and economic challenges faced by users and producers of carbon black. Attendees will hear from and can interact with subject matter experts to gain insight on a broad spectrum of topics ranging from revised CAFE requirements, environmental regulations, state-of the-art date process technologies and potentially identify opportunities for new products. This conference will also afford an opportunity to network across a broad spectrum of users, specifiers, equipment suppliers and producers of carbon black,” said conference co-chairs Rikki Lamba and Jim Popio, Smithers Rapra. The advisory board of experts for Carbon Black World 2012 has been assembled to infuse the program with a wide range of perspectives all along the carbon black value chain and includes: Jacob Homiller, Cabot; Cynthia Flanigan, Ford Motor; William R. (Bill) Jones, Sid Richardson Carbon & Energy; Ricky Magee, Columbian Chemicals; and Bob Handlos, Bridgestone Americas. - |
