& |2 P$ \- j" p( r5 G$ `9 ?Cary, NC - Lord Corporation’s James R. Halladay, technology fellow, and Brian D. Stull, technical service representative, will speak at the Akron Polymer Training Center March 8 and 9. Halladay and Stull will provide a practical overview of rubber-to-substrate bonding (primarily metal) in non-tire applications including adhesive selection and application as well as substrate preparation techniques. Further, the course includes an emphasis on in-process problem resolution. Key topics include fundamentals of adhesion, general bonding, elastomers, substrate pretreatment technology, adhesive selection, testing, adhesives in the factory, troubleshooting, effect of compounding ingredients and factors affecting rubber-to-metal bond strength. This session will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. each day. The Akron Polymer Training Center is the training division of the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. |
