# t r; Y, b7 H: Y9 XParsippany, NJ - Pump Systems Matter and the Hydraulic Institute announce a free webinar on sealing systems energy efficiency. The free session will be held on March 15, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. ET and includes time for Q&A. Participants will be led by seal expert Henri Azibert, chief technology officer, A.W. Chesterton Co. The session will help participants gain up-to-date information on how sealing systems impact energy efficiency. Mechanical seals and packing are critical components for the reliability of pumps. The primary concern is to ensure the integrity of the seal between the rotating or reciprocating parts and the stationary parts of the pump. The session also covers the energy required to contain pumped fluid. The power consumption from friction due to the relative motion of the parts in contact represents only part of the energy expended. The cooling or heating requirements in the seal area can exceed the energy delivered by the pump driver. Research confirms inefficient seal systems are used more than 50 percent of the time. |
